Curriculum



Program Highlights

The designation of Associateship in Canadian Surety Bonding (A.C.S.B.) will be conferred by the Surety Association of Canada which will develop core surety course material.

The course and program will be administered by the School of Continuing Studies of the University of Toronto.

To receive the A.C.S.B. designation students will be required to complete a total of six courses including four core courses and two electives.

The two electives will be chosen from a group of eighteen offered via the University of Toronto Distance Learning Calendar.

For students registered in the A.C.S.B. program Principals of Suretyship is the prerequisite for all surety courses and must be taken first. There is no prerequisite requirement for non-program students.

Students may carry forward Introductory Accounting from previous studies. However, all students must take two electives with no credit given for previous studies.

Principles of Surety, Contract Surety and Construction & Surety Law courses have been developed by the Surety Association of Canada using the program guidelines course material and text books from existing resources or developed on consultation with outside sources.

Where material is too American influenced or not applicable in Canada, Canadian supplements will be supplied by contribution with expertise in the areas.

There will be no academic credit given for work experience.
